eCube Systems announces the new version of Invenso’s XBintegrator is now available. The new version, now re-designed into four components: XBintegrator, XBwebServices, XBoffice and XBconverter, is the most significant XML middleware release for the iSeries ever. The advantage current XBintegrator users have of being able to design and build XML applications on the IBM iSeries quickly and easily is extended using the comprehensive development environment and the XBscript, the XML savvy scripting language with new features that have further extended its capability.

This release greatly expands the already powerful XBintegrator functionality providing the capabilities you need to support programming and development in XML by using industry best-practice methods for developing and testing new XML scripts. Case studies with a major financial firm have already shown productivity gains of up to 80% by using XBitnegrator over the IBM XML Toolkit, reducing the time to debug XML scripts by a factor of 10. eCube Systems and Invenso have collaborated to deliver these innovative designs to keep your organization competitive. Most engineers work with ever-tightening constraints and always-higher productivity goals, but rarely get the tools to help them deliver these goals. Not anymore. Whether your focus is on faster time-to-market, collaboration with other engineers, regulatory compliance or simply increasing your productivity level, XBintegrator is designed to help you achieve it.

The key enhancements which will make your interaction with XBintegrator easier and more productive are:

  • Robust XBconverter – converts data streams into structured data: XML can be created from text streams, database files, CVS or flat files. XBconverter can use any predefined schema or define your own structure on the fly. Function support for each mapped field and Exit program support allows additionall processing.
  • Flexible .NET architecture for connectivity - Invenso, the developer of XBintegrator has reinforced this new architecture with almost two years of reviewing and revising code to achieve stability and better memory management.
  • Innovative XML and Metadata capabilities – XBintegrator’s comprehensive XML architecture enables connectivity to your legacy applications no matter what the platform, and delivers results that can be saved in any format, emailed, converted to PDF, printed, faxed or presented to the requesting PC. Stored information in XML allows for searchable, externally traceable, and transformable information. Metadata-tagged files and key calculations are easily searched, stored, and referenced by other XML-enabled systems for superb collaboration capabilities..
  • Redesigned XBoffice modules to - import and export XML through Excel and Word standard plugins. The ability to use XML to populate Excel or Word with DB2 or other SQL compliant databases eliminates the need to manually enter them
  • New Integrated Development Environment: XBintegrator development studio has a new XML editor that supports dual modes: one for XML mode and one for Design mode.
  • New XML Import Wizard – read from a large variety of file formats, preview your data and select and control the parts of the data you want to analyze
  • New XB WebServices Designer – enables you to create a web application simply and easily, facilitates the call to web service processor that creates a new session for the caller. That new session can perform the call to your existing COBOL or RPG application.
  • New Documentation – organised around the tasks users perform most often it makes users more productive.
